PODIUM ANNOUNCEMENTS : FRIDAY, AUGUST 7, 2009

From the DCS:

The Jaro Cathedral (Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria) in the Archdiocese of Jaro, Iloilo, Philippines  and the seat  of Archbishop Angel Lagdameo, our BLD Community Spiritual Director, is currently undergoing general repairs.  

The church which was originally built in 1869 and has survived various natural calamities,  presently needs various repairs due to damaged roof, rotten frames and ceiling, as well as substandard electrical system.

They have been slowly fund raising for this project but outside help is needed to fully support the repair costs.

On behalf of Archbishop Lagdameo, the BLD Executive Council  of Servant Leaders is extending this appeal to every BLD District and its members to give whatever contributions they can make to help restore the Jaro Cathedral.

To better prepare everyone to give generously, we will be passing a donation basket for our Prayer Meeting next week  to support this project .   Thank you.

Brace yourself again for this year's fundraising Fall Dinner Dance!  It will be held on October 24, 2009 at Humberwood Community Centre.  Theme is - SO YOU THINK BLD CAN DANCE. There will be lots of raffle prizes, door prizes, good food, ballroom dance entertainments among other things. Come and join the fun.  This will be an evening to remember.
 
Ticket cost $20 per person and will be available next Friday at the church basement. We will also solicit advertisers to our souvenir programme.

LSS #24 Grand Reunion is August 8, 2009

The LSS#24 Grand Reunion will be held tomorrow, Saturday, August 8th   at Our Lady of Assumption Basement Hall. All Lambs, Shepherds, Co-shepherds, Pastoral and Working Teams and all those who have served and helped in the success of the Seminar are invited.

The reunion starts with a Eucharistic Celebration at 11 am followed by Lunch and a short program.  Registration opens at 10:30 am.
