Welcome to BLD Toronto!

We are a communion of families and a community of persons called together as one people through the moment of encounter and a process of renewal to a relationship of faith, hope, and love with God. We are reconciled with the Father by our saving faith in Jesus Christ, by renewing trust in the Holy Spirit, and by our uniting compassion with one another. We are blessed with personal gifts – spiritual and natural, innate or acquired – which we yield to the Word and the Spirit. We give freely and fully of ourselves, love and serve one another as we seek and proclaim God’s Kingdom. We commit, as disciples of Jesus, to speak the words and do the deeds of Christ among the Filipino people and among others to whom we are called by the Lord.   Read more...

From ME Class No. 30, sponsors of the Spring Dance on May 1, 2010 at Humberwood Community Centre:

Please allow us to share with you an extract from the message received from the BLD ECSL in Manila regarding our Spring Dance:  "We congratulate the District of Toronto for carrying this tradition year after year to be able to raise funds for your Evangelization and Mission programs.  We exhort all members to participate and support this event, sharing their time, talent and treasure.  During these times, we can recall Psalm 133: "How good it is, how pleasant, where the people dwell as one!  There the Lord has lavished blessings...!"

So, brothers and sisters, please check your purses to make sure that you have your tickets for our "Flores de Mayo", then proceed to our table downstairs later to remit your payment, if you have not yet done so.  Remember that you may request for a table reservation in groups of 10 people and only if all 10 tickets are paid before May 1st.  Please come early for the Flores de Mayo procession with the Philippine Heritage Band, which will take place before dinner.  We are grateful to all of you for your prayers and for your loving support."

From the DCS:

A few months ago, the Office of the Catholic Youth, opened a Prayer Card art contest for youth between the age of  14 to 19 years.  The art work reflected next years World Youth Day theme  “ Good Teacher, what must I do to inherit eternal life”  Mk.10:17.  There were quite a number of youths all over Ontario who participated and used their talents, gifts, creativity and imagination by their entries. We are pleased to inform our community that one of our Youth Member was declared the winner of this prayer card creation contest.

Let us all congratulate Alyssa Kaye Andino - a member of the BLD Toronto Youth Ministry.

Alyssa explained, that her artwork showed how material things become stumbling block between us and God and in order to reach Him, we must conquer that block.

For more particulars, her artwork can be viewed at
