Foundational VerseMt. 25:34-36 – “Come, you who are blessed by my Father, take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. Mission Ministry ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food ,I was thirsty and you gave me drink,…naked and you clothed me,….’ Mt 25: 34-36 Most of us feel a twinge in our hearts and a small feeling of guilt when we come across these passages in the Bible. Thankfully, the Mission Ministry gives some of us a chance to put them into practice. Mission is not just a word that describes our ministry. Yes, it is what we do, but it is also how we make people feel about what we do, and how we feel doing what we do. What We Do and What They Say.... Visiting Seniors’ Residences and Bringing Christmas Cheer …
Thank you, Lord, for the grace of being able to serve You though the least of our brothers.‘… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.' Mt 25:40 The JOY of Serving Every month, our awesome God allows us to touch the seniors (alternating at the Carmel Heights Seniors Residence and Leisureworld) through our prayers, songs (like “Jesus In Me Loves You” which left everyone misty-eyed), or simply chatting with them over some refreshments.

Giving HOPE to the Hopeless Starts off with a Mass, then a few of us serve lunch for the homeless at Good Shepherd Centre. Literally, hundreds come for the free lunch and we’re huffing and puffing as service is so fast-paced. Tied-in to this service is our commitment to supply 20 trays of spaghetti each month.
Out of the Cold Shelter We helped out at the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church/Our Lady of Peace joint shelter. Twice, we supplied the dinner and dished them out – man-size servings, seconds, and thirds. On three occasions, we provided the Lunch Bags that the guests took with them when they left the next day. ‘... go and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.’ Mt 28:19
Bringing the GOOD NEWS With the support of Fr. Ben Ebcas, Parish Priest and LSS Presider, Sr. Haydee Librojo, the Good Shepherd Prayer group coordinators, and BLD members from other ministries, St. Barnabas Parish LSS#1 was launched in March. Over 70 parishioners were baptized in the Holy Spirit and are now active in their prayer group. St. Barnabas LSS 1
“…they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold and of incense and of myrrh.’ Mt 2:11
GLORY to GOD in the Highest… We took time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and savoured some gold-en, funt-incense-tic, myrrh-tful moments.
