From the OLA Parish Management
We received numerous complaints of illegal parking and blocking cars at the OLA parking lot, especially last Friday during the BLD Praise and Worship. Designated disabled parking have also been used illegally.
Please be considerate. If you parked illegally and blocking other cars, move your car right away, immediately after Praise and Worship or other activities.
Please note that if there are no more available parking spot, you can park on the side streets of the OLA Church.
If these problems will occur again, we will have no other option but to call the City Parking Control or a Tow Truck if needed. Help us to manage the smooth flow of traffic in our church parking lot. Thank you.
From the Evangelization Steward
During our recent visit to the Philippines, we were able to visit and consult our Mother Community and the BLD Manila District.
We were moved to assist them in their campaign to support the BLD Manila Provident Fund and Mission Fund for the New Bilibid Prisons and Correctional Institution for Women. This Mission is doing the Works of Mercy, like providing material and spiritual need to the least of our brothers, that we all support. They organized a Raffle to raise fund for this purpose.
We brought home with us some Raffle Tickets that will be drawn on March 17, 2010. Prizes to be won are worthwhile claiming for: Household Showcase worth P 300,000 ( Three Hundred Thousand Pesos ). Motorcyle, Sari Sari Store Showcase and other Prizes.
The price per ticket is only $1.00, which is less than the price for a cup of coffee. Of course you can buy more than one booklet.
Please buy your Raffle Tickets from the designated Service Ministry members or your Ministry coordinators.
Thank you and may our blessings multiply. Reggie & Baby Villanueva

Click www.ancopcanada.net/communities Incidentally, please mark your calendar for this year's GK Walk which will be held on August 22, 2010. More info about this event will be broadcasted as they become available. Once again, thank you for your continued support of the BLD Gawad Kalinga Projects. God Bless, Bernie and Belen Consul =================================
Winner of the GK Walk 2009 top prize
The GK Walk 2009 event held last August and September 2009 gave ANCOP International Canada a donation and pledge result equivalent to over 100 units of Ancop houses to be built in the proposed villages of the groups who participated in the event. There were over 2,000 solicitors who participated in the event coming from Toronto, Ottawa, Vancouver, Victoria, Lethbridge, Winnipeg, Calgary, Fort McMurray, Montreal and Edmonton.
The draw of the prizes was done at the Casa Manila last December and the winner of the first prize, a return ticket to the Philippines was the BLD Toronto group who in turn made a draw to award the winnings to a solicitor of their group. The BLD draw's winner is Mrs. Patria 'Pat' Lazaro.
The winner of the coveted First Prize is also one of the topnotchers in the solicitation of pledges during the recently concluded GK Walk 2009. Pat, together with husband Eric is a member of the Bukas Loob sa Diyos Toronto (BLD), a covenanted community composed of over 500 married couples in Greater Toronto, Ontario. In the GK Walk 2009, the BLD group raised enough pledges and donations, coming from various parts of the world including the USA, to a level of almost 20 housing units. This would be the group's third village. Pat is shown here in the picture receiving her award from Temi Pangilinan, President of ANCOP Canada, sponsor of the GK Walk annual event. Looking in are Pat's spouse Eric, who himself is one of the top 5 solicitors of the event and two of their lovely grandchildren.
The BLD leaders who spearheaded the group's efforts during the event are Bernie and Belen Consul, who are also among the leading solicitors for this event.

From BLD-GK Ministry: BLD WON THE GK WALK NATIONAL GRAND PRIZE FOR THE SECOND YEAR !!
In a simple ceremony held last Sunday, November 8, 2009, the “ANCOP International (Canada) Inc.” awarded to BLD Toronto the 2009 GK Walk National Grand Prize consisting of 1 return ticket to the Philippines. BLD-Toronto was also the winner of the grand prize last year.
This award is in recognition of the efforts of the members of BLD Toronto who participated in the GK Walk held last August 23, 2009 wherein the BLD has surpassed the number of registered participants and donations raised required to win the prize.
Since the prize was awarded to the BLD as a group, the Gawad Kalinga Ministry will soon conduct a raffle to award the prize to one of the qualified GK Walk participants under the BLD group.
The recipients of this award will have the opportunity to visit a GK village of his/her choice.
If you are a participant/registrant in the last GK Walk, please watch your incoming email for the date of the raffle and the announcement of raffle winner.
Thank you all for being part of the GK miracle! We pray that more of you will join us next year.
“WHAT YOU SOW FOR GOD, YOU WILL REAP”
Maraming Pong Salamat,
Bernie and Belen Consul Coordinators, BLD-GK Ministry ====================================================== From our DSL – Robert and Cely Kitane: The Ministry for Caregivers of the Archdiocesan Filipino Catholic Mission (AFCM) is seeking your support in terms of signing a petition that calls for genuine reform to the Live-in Caregivers Program. This petition is strongly endorsed by our Spiritual Director, Fr. Ben Ebcas in support of our brothers and sisters who may be affected by the proposed legislation affecting migrant workers. As part of our social responsibility, the whole community is encouraged to participate in voicing out our concerns especially in the wake of the proposed amendment to the legislation that will limit the stay of temporary workers to a maximum of four years and will not allow them to re-enter Canada for the next six years. It is an opportunity for everyone to let Ottawa know how we feel about the proposed legislation and suggest changes that will be more meaningful and relevant to our countrymen and women working as caregivers in this country. Ms. Faye Arellano and some members of her group will be available at the foyer to entertain anyone who may have queries regarding details about the proposed legislation.
